    VFX Supervisor Stephen "Steph" Coren is a seasoned industry veteran with over 40 years of experience. 
    His expertise seamlessly blends hands-on, on-set practical knowledge with deep technical proficiency in visual effects, enabling him to deliver stunning visuals across film, television, and emerging media.

    Not only does Steph bring a wealth of filming techniques & experience but he is a keen believer in pragmatic Creative Management. Thus driving projects forward to get every penny on the big-screen.

  • Title 01

    Film School  - late 80s : 

    CalArts, We learnt the craft and work ethic of practical film making. All real Models, Cameras and lights. Computer graphics was in its infancy. So there was a reliance on traditional In-Camera techniques. 


    After CalArts a New York stop over on the way home:

    Early 90's:


    Lived / Worked for TDI - a software company doing CGI adverts in London, Paris, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tia pai

    94/95:


    Lived and worked for Peter Jackson at Weta on several films.

    In the mid-late 90s :

     

    Steph founded and led a successful London-based VFX and Animation Boutique ( Drum ), producing hundreds of high-profile commercials for blue-chip brands.

    2000 -> 2002 LOTR:
          Decided to go back to Film. I was lucky enough to work 2 Lord of the Rings films and came back to the UK.
